Bailey here! Lindsay is away on vacation, so I’ll be filling in for the next couple of weeks.
It’s strange to have Lindsay gone, but it’s amazing to see how many people keep the church moving forward even in her absence. Between the staff, Session, Deacons, our many committees, and all types of volunteers, everyone is working creatively to “do church” in these uncertain times. It’s more clear than ever that a church isn’t just a place, a person, or even a worship service – it’s a compassionate community of people!
Speaking of awesome people doing compassionate work, a LOT has happened in our building recently. RAAN moved into their new office space in our lower level, Connections Ministry officially began some renovation construction upstairs, the new organ installation was completed, and our new live-streaming technology was installed in the sanctuary! Be sure to say THANK YOU to everyone involved in these efforts.
AL BATT – SPECIAL GUEST PREACHER THIS SUNDAY!
Al writes newspaper columns and does radio shows about nature. He authored the book, A Life Gone to the Birds. He’s a columnist for Bird Watcher’s Digest and Watching Backyard Birds and serves on the board of the American Bald Eagle Foundation in Alaska. He received the Ed Franey Conservation Media Award from the Izaak Walton League and the Thomas Sadler Roberts Award from the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union for his contributions to birding. Al is a prayerful man who speaks all over the world to anyone who will listen. His mother thinks he’s a big deal!
JULY SESSION REPORT
Session did not meet last month, but did conduct some business via email. Click HERE for the July Report.
BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES, & IMPORTANT LIFE EVENTS Part of the work of the church is to love and support one another through the stuff of life – good, bad, and otherwise. One of the ways we have been able to do this for one another this season is by celebrating the happy stuff on Facebook! If you’ve got something to share and celebrate with the church, email Bailey so she can spur on the celebration: firstname.lastname@example.org
DON’T FORGET TO GIVE! The work of the church continues during this time – and a virus cannot even stop us! Make sure you are mailing in your pledge, in gratitude for all we have and all we are, by God’s grace. Online donations are easy and secure, and special gifts are ALWAYS welcome – it’s how we continue to love and serve our people and neighbors in need, maintain our building, appreciate our staff, and more.
COVID-19 PROTOCOL All businesses (including churches) are required to have a protocol for this strange season of COVID-19. With a big thanks to Lynnette, we have a working protocol, and it can be viewed HERE. Note, committees can now meet in the church, but there are some rules and regulations we must follow to keep everyone safe. Click HERE for the guidelines. Call the church office with any questions or to set up a meeting. Most importantly, be kind, be well, and be safe.
