Dear Church,

It’s the weekend you’ve all been waiting for! Soul Food & Stewardship AND our Congregational Meeting AND Ben (and company’s) smooth jazz are all happening from 4 – 6 pm Sunday afternoon! Youth will be chalking the walk and ready to receive your orders for TNT Eats, Nominating Committee will receive ballots for church officers (we’ve got extras available!) and there will be a box to drop in your pledge card (we’ll have extra available of those too!). So many of you have responded and we just can’t wait to see your faces (well, behind a mask!). Check below for updates on the things coming up in the life of the church, and we’ll see you Sunday!

Peace be yours,
Pastor Lindsay

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING THIS SUNDAY!
Please mark your calendar and plan to participate in our annual Congregational Meeting. These are scheduled every fall to elect officers to serve as Elders and Deacons. We are being creative in this season! Ballots were mailed in your October Communicator. You will cast your vote by bringing your ballot to the Soul Food & Stewardship Drive-Thru October 11 between 4 – 6 pm. (Extra ballots will be available too in case you need one!)

KEEPING IN PRAYER…

  • Sheree Palm is recovering from foot surgery and was also diagnosed with breast cancer. While keeping her in your prayers, meal delivery would also be helpful. You can sign up HERE to help out and volunteer to bring them (she and George and Logan) a meal.
  • Chris Renne had back surgery on Monday and is recovering. Please keep him and Leah and their boys in your prayers.
  • Sky Smith’s father, Robert Niesen, passed away last Sunday, October 4. His obituary is available HERE. Please keep Sky and her family in your prayers as they celebrate his life and mourn his loss.
SEND US YOUR SAINTS!
Sunday, November 1, is All Saints Sunday. At the beginning of the service, we will call upon the saints. We will name the ones we love that we have lost in the past year, and this has been a tough year for so many. It is important for us to take that time to grieve, to celebrate their witness, and to gather them into this important moment of worship. Reply to this email with the names of loved ones you have lost this year, or send an email to Pastor Lindsay with the names, Pastor@fpcmankato.org
CHURCH MERCHANDISE STILL AVAILABLE
It’s not too late to order your “church merch!” You can personalize and order shirts, hats, masks, and mugs whenever you want HERE. Contact Bailey with any questions, educator@fpcmankato.org

SUNDAY MORNINGS  LIVE-STREAMED WORSHIP ON FACEBOOK
Remember to join us each Sunday at facebook.com/FPCmankato for worship at 10 am! If you are unable to watch live, you can always access recordings of all of the above at fpcmankato.org/virtualchurch

JESUS FOR PRESIDENT – Sermon Talk-back with Pastor Lindsay
For the month of October, we are taking time to acknowledge the political nature of the life and witness of Jesus, and what that tells us as people responding faithfully in the world now. Join Pastor Lindsay in wondering, if Jesus was running for president, what’s his platform? What is closest to the heart of God, and how does that shape us as faithful people in the politics, love, and justice of our days? Each Sunday after worship, Pastor Lindsay will host a “talk-back” for those who would like to ask questions and dig deeper at 11 am via ZOOM.
