Dear Church,

Another school year is about to begin! As we slide into the Labor Day Weekend, send some extra prayers for teachers, students, parents, administrators, and all those who have to make hard decisions with extra doses of compassion these days ahead. We passed out backpack blessings a couple of weeks ago (for students AND educators!) and if you did not get one – let us know and we’ll mail it to you.

Speaking of mail – watch your inbox and mailbox for the latest Communicator – Stewardship edition! This month starts off our Annual Stewardship Campaign, and even in a weird year of obstacles, we have accomplished so much! Read about what we have gotten done, and how we need YOU to be a part of the work.

Finally, good news! We will be LIVE STREAMING from the sanctuary starting September 13 and we will need some volunteers to help pull this off. If you are willing to be a liturgist, children’s time family, OR children’s time leader, please make sure to sign up HERE.

We are still a ways from “business as usual,” but we’re working hard to meet the needs of our community. Check below for other goings-on as we embark on the program year (and more on Sunday School and Youth stuff in the coming weeks). It will look different, but there are many ways to grow together! And if a need is not being met, reach out to me and we’ll work on a solution together.

Peace be yours,
Pastor Lindsay

PLEASE HOLD  IN PRAYER…

There are a few spots available if you’d like to come in person. You must call the church office before 12 noon tomorrow (Friday) to sign up.

FIRST FRIDAYS ONLINE: “Faith in Democracy” with ISAIAH
TOMORROW, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 at NOON on ZOOM

ISAIAH organizes people of faith and shared values towards racial, economic, and climate justice in Minnesota. Join Southern MN Organizer Kathryn Lozada for this FREE conversation on powerfully shaping this election in order to build the multiracial, multi-faith beloved community and caring economy we all need to thrive. We know the politics of fear and division will be even more amplified this year, but we also know that intentional conversations with our loved ones and neighbors are the most effective way to both protect our democracy and strengthen our communities going forward.
